LIVE RECORDING
Following my experience with the successful 48 track recording of the GONG UNCON festival in Amsterdam Nov 2006 I have purchased an ADAT HD 24 dedicated HD recorder - 24 bit, 24 channels - 40 hours continuous 24 track recording on each IDE drive and fire wire interface to IDE/SATA.A shareware program allows the FAST stsyem drives to be placed in a caddy and downloaded to the main computer
Fast downloads and backup, pity it cost them their business . . . making operating systems is costly.

Newly acquired is the awesome Tascam HDD stereo high resolution field recorder, with beautiful preamps, it records at 48 / 96 / 192 K at 24 bit and as a industry best practice 1 bit recorder at 2.6 MHz and even at 5.2 MHz. This has to be the best portable recorded ever. Available with hypercardioid shotgun/ 451/stereo wide microphones in a blimp for field recording.
